Dana Loesch, the blogger, radio host, Tea Party speaker, conservative lightning rod and Riverfront Times cover subject, has taken on yet another role: editor-in-chief of Andrew Breitbart's BigJournalism.com. BigJournalism is the media watchdog portion of the Breitbart empire, which also includes BigHollywood and BigGovernment, to which Loesch had been a contributor.

"It's a news junkie's dream, a dream especially for a print journalism ex-pat-of-sorts who has felt disillusioned by media for quite some time," Loesch gushed yesterday on her personal blog. "It's also an incredible honor and I'm thrilled to be working with such an impressive array of fellow writers." (That blog, by the way, will now be an outlet for, in Loesch's words, "issues, programming notes, and news about my daily show," to avoid competition with herself.)

Loesch takes over from Michael Walsh, who had been editing the site since its inception in January.

Loesch's new job has, naturally, inspire approbation from the right and apprehension from the left. Over on MediaMatters, Eric Boehlert greeted the news with dismay:

According to Andrew Breitbart's website Big Journalism, Dana Loesch is now the site's editor. And yes, it's a perfect fit because Big Journalism exists as an open forum for right-wing misinformation about the press (as opposed to a site that produces actual journalism), and Loesch has made a name for herself within the RW blogosphere by making stuff up. (She does the same on the AM dial.)

Like, constantly making stuff up and never bothering to hold herself accountable for the endless lies and smears she produces online. And just basically making a mockery out of the idea of journalism.

So congratulations Andrew Breitbart! You found the perfect person to run your site.

All those links in Boehlert's screed, by the way, go back to the same blog post, written by Loesch's sworn enemy, Adam Shriver, on the blog St. Louis Activist Hub.

Hey, wouldn't it be cool if, as Loesch moves on up, she takes her battle with Shriver with her?
