Four male suspects wearing masks shot and killed a man in College Hill last night just hours after another shooting victim in the city died.
Police have identified the latest homicide victim as Deandre Robinson, 26, who lived at the 2000 block of East John Avenue in College Hill, where the shooting took place.
Police responded around 7:15 p.m. and found Robinson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the side yard of his residence. It was too late.
Robinson was pronounced dead on the scene, making him the 54th homicide victim of 2013 in the city of St. Louis. Earlier Wednesday morning, a nine-year-old boy was shot in the head in a drive-by incident and was pronounced dead late afternoon.
The subsequent investigation revealed that four suspects, all black males, showed up in a vehicle, wearing masks, and shot Robinson multiple times before fleeing.
The suspects remain unknown and on the loose.
Police identified the College Hill neighborhood as a target area for preemptive crime-reduction efforts earlier this year.
