The dead include the gunman -- believed to be 51-year-old Timothy Hendron of Webster Groves and an employee of ABB -- who authorities say died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hendron had sued the company over its retirement plan. The case was reportedly scheduled for trial this week.

Police say that the suspect was armed with an assault rifle, shotgun and handgun. Authorities have not officially released the names of the suspect or victims. The department does confirm that the gunman killed three of his eight victims. Those who survived gunshot wounds were taken to the hospital where two remain in critical condition, two in fair condition and one was treated and released.

Police will release more information once next of kin are notified. ABB is Swiss-based power company. Its factory here in St. Louis manufactures electric transformers and employs around 200 people.
