Freese! You're Under Arrest

St. Louis Cardinals third-base prospect David Freese was arrested in Maryland Heights early Saturday on the suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Few other details have emerged about the incident, though Freese was not involved in an accident when detained by police.

The Post-Dispatch notes this morning that Freese's arrest is the fourth time since 2007 that a member of the Cardinals has been involved in an alcohol-related incident involving a vehicle.

Those others include:

• Manager Tony La Russa's arrested for falling asleep at an intersection in March 2007;
• Pitcher Josh Hancock's fatal crash on Highway 40 in April 2007;
• Outfielder Scott Spiezio's outlandish incident in December 2008 when he crashed his Bimmer after many drinks, fled the scene and hid from police in a closet.
