Gerrod Sanchez Smith: St. Louis Homicide No. 67; Found Dead on A Driveway

Police officers were called to the 5900 block of Natural Bridge Avenue in the Wells-Goodfellow at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. There they found Gerrod Sanchez Smith, a 35-year-old black man from Ferguson, dead on a driveway from a gunshot wound to the chest. The police incident summary notes that an "assault-type rifle" was found near Smith.

Witnesses told police that Smith had been arguing with a black male shortly before the shooting. Police continue to investigate.
