Move over Milk Man: Tonight marks the world premiere of Upstream Theater’s The Polish Egg Man (305 South Skinker Boulevard; 314-863-4999). Dare you ask who/what is a Polish Egg Man? Well, truth is, we’re not quite sure. For $15 to $20, you can find out for yourself at 8 p.m. Playwright Alexander Borinsky and director Wieslaw Górski are on hand for this first show, and you can chat up the latter at a public reception after the performance. This way, you master the art of multitasking without sacrificing any precious moments of your hectic life.
Fur Sure: Whether you prefer fat cats, lolcats or ones who ride the waves, find purrfectly like-minded individuals at the Furball 2008: Sweetheart Dance this evening. A friend to all felines, Pawl Friswold, gives you the scoop.
Pure Luck: Where can you find one of the West Coast’s finest DJs and $2 blonde-headed-slut shots tonight? Why, at Lucky’s (1204 Washington Avenue). LA’s mash-up king DJ Cobra, whose Web site features a totally awesome version of the Gremlins song, spins until 3 a.m. Doors open at 9 p.m., and opening sets are offered up by DJs Empire and Yoshi. Admission is $10, and again, those slutty shots are just $2.

Make Me Wanna Sprout: The only things growing this time of year are your disdain for the indoors, your irritation with strange weather and your annoyance with the ongoing writers’ strike. You need to get out more. The twentieth annual Midwestern Herb & Garden Show provides an adequate excuse to travel to Times Square Mall in Mount Vernon, Illinois (Broadway and 42nd Street). Check out more than 40 vendors and a variety of classes/seminars (on roses, orchids, mushrooms and more!) Friday through Sunday -- all at the low cost of free.
Get on the Boat: Set sail on a voyage of discovery and wonder to the St. Louis Boat & Sportshow. If you’re hydrophobic (or just Lake of the Ozarks-phobic), don’t worry -- Alison Sieloff assures you this land-based event is boatloads of fun for everyone.
Heading West: Julie Jensen’s play Two-Headed chronicles the lives of two frontier women and recounts the Mountain Meadows Massacre, a mass murder of California-bound emigrants in 1857. At 5 p.m. watch this gripping tale unravel at the Black Cat Theatre (2810 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood; 314-963-8800). Tickets are $15 to $25.
