1. Everybody remembers Tiffany. The mall-touring pop tart who covered “I Think We’re Alone Now” in the late ’80s (and then disrobed for Playboy in 2002) will perform live at a fitting ’80s party at HOME Nightclub (One Ameristar Boulevard) on Friday. 2. Fall for L’Elisir d’Amore at its last two shows on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Gaetano Donizetti’s comic opera offers up the highs and lows of a thing called love. And even though all performances will be in Italian, there’s no need to brush up — English subtitles will be projected on each side of the stage at Union Avenue Christian Church (733 North Union Boulevard; www.unionavenueopera.org or 314-361-2881). 3. Albeit WAR at Soldiers Memorial is a strange pairing indeed, the funky rock juxtaposed with Portabella Restaurant’s Italian fare inside The Sauce Café at Live Off the Levee matches perfectly. For $30, take in a three-course meal of local heirloom tomato salad with basil vinaigrette, beef tenderloin spedini with porcini mushroom risotto and strawberry shortcake with vanilla bean cream and fresh strawberries. 4. This week we learned Café Eau (212 N. Kingshighway Boulevard; 314-454-900) turns into a cougar safari on Friday nights, but this Saturday at 4 p.m. the Chase Park Plaza’s bar and bistro will transform into a tropical luau filled with hula dancing, tiki torches and palm trees. This free patio party benefits The Foundation for Children with Cancer and features live music from 5 to 9, drink specials from Pearl Vodka, a limbo contest with prizes and much more.
5. Night & Day’s Paul Friswold told you all about Saturday’s and Sunday’s Open Studios tours. In addition to the stroll through artists’ workspaces, you can ride a trolley or bike your way to selected locations. 6. For all you cult-movie-obsessed night owls, don’t miss Midnight Cult Films at Moolah Theatre and Lounge (3821 Lindell Boulevard; 314-446-6868). This week’s film features Michael Keaton as Batman. 8. Café Soul is commemorating its second anniversary with a soul-filled soirée on Friday.
