Two brothers have been charged with the murder of University City teenager Destinee Clemons. Clemons, 17, was shot while on her porch with six other family members on the night of June 21 in the 6500 block of Plymouth Avenue in University City.

Jeremy Bowers, 20, and Jared Bowers, 19, both of the 7000 block of Melrose Place in University City, were allegedly in a red car that slowed in front of Destinee Clemons' family home shortly before 8 p.m. Two passengers of the vehicle then fired numerous shots at the group on the porch, killing Destinee Clemons and injuring her sister, Jerry'Ka McCauley. No motive for the shooting is known at this time.

Both of the Bowers brothers have been charged with one count of second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. They're being held in the St. Louis County Jail on individual bonds of $1 million each.
