Good news for Jeremy Maclin.
Maclin, 23, was struck by mysterious illness this spring that caused rapid wight loss, iron anemia and irregular blood results. On his birthday May 11, a test showed that his lymph nodes were irregularly large and hot -- a possible sign of lymphoma.
Maclin told FoxSports.com on Tuesday that he'd lived in fear of having cancer all summer long. Meanwhile, speculation was ripe in the media that the Philadelphia Eagles star may have come down with something else.
"I was tested for everything, and every single test came back negative. I don't have mono, I don't have AIDS, leukemia -- all the things people were guessing on, there was nothing. I was being tested for lymphoma and thank God everything has come back negative," said Maclin.
Doctors eventually removed lymph nodes through is bellybutton. Maclin says he now feels fine.
"It was all caused by an inflammatory virus," Maclin told FoxSports. "something that just runs its course through your body or you can treat with medicine. I didn't need medicine. It's just something I had to deal with."
