The chaos has calmed in Ferguson, but the nationwide conversation about race and police mistreatment that Michael Brown's death sparked continues.

And now that Jon Stewart is back from vacation, he's diving in headfirst.

"This isn't all about just one man killed in one town. It is about how people of color, no matter their socioeconomic standing, face obstacles in this country with surprising grace," Stewart says after taking the ice-bucket-inspired Ferguson challenge, which just means getting maced in the face.

"I guarantee you that every person of color in this country has faced an indignity, from the ridiculous to the grotesque to the sometimes fatal, at some point in their...[pause] I'm going to say last couple of hours, because of their skin color," Stewart says. "Race is there, and it is a constant. You're tired of hearing about it? Imagine how fucking exhausting it is living it."

Stewart is, admittedly, a little late to the party since he was on vacation when the unrest in Ferguson began.
