Kendall White: Charged in Murder of Andre Hathaway, Man Found Floating in Creek

Kendall White has a list of priors beginning when he was a teenager.

St. Louis police have arrested a man for the murder earlier this summer of 28-year-old Andre Hathaway.

Police found Hathaway's body floating in Moline Creek in north St. Louis on June 8. An autopsy revealed that he had died from massive head trauma.

Last Friday the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged 28-year-old Kendall White with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action in Hathaway's death. White, of the 1000 block of Melvin, lives just a few blocks from the 9100 block of Riverview where police discovered Hathaway's body.

White is being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond. Court records show that he first ran afoul with the law in 2000 as a teenager when he pleaded guilty to felony burglary and stealing in St. Louis and was sentenced to a 120 days of "shock time" in jail.

This past January White pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in St. Charles and received a suspended sentence. Six days before Hathaway's murder, on June 2, White was charged in St. Louis with another marijuana possession. That case remains pending.
