As the Missouri gay-rights group Show Me No H8 reported Saturday, Laclede Gas has a new non-discrimination policy on its website that includes sexual orientation. The new policy comes days after Show Me No H8 and other groups held a March 26 protest outside the downtown St. Louis headquarters of Laclede Gas.
Laclede Gas spokesman Robert Arrol tells Daily RFT that his company now looks forward to HRC to conduct a new survey.
"We recently added the non-discrimination language to our website to more explicitly reflect the fact that we do not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, among other criteria, and to make this information more readily available to current and prospective employees," says Arrol. "In addition, it's important to note that our employee training curriculum prohibits discrimination of any sort and includes diversity training that focuses on sensitivity to race, religion, gender, harassment and sexual orientation."
