Like Soulard Oktoberfest, Tarts in Revealing Outfits Now the Bane of Munich Celebration

A few weeks ago Daily RFT reported about Soulard Oktoberfest (going on this weekend) and the controversy surrounding the organization's racy advertisements, featuring buxom frauleins stuffed into kitschy German folk costumes.

Well, turns out that St. Louisans aren't the only ones who've got their lederhosen in a bunch over the outfits worn at today's Oktoberfests.

As the Wall Street Journal recently reported, traditionalist at the original Oktoberfest in Munich are aghast at the skimpy dirndls and other costumes worn by younger partygoers at the 200-year-old German festival.

Grouses a Munich tailor: "It's become like Mardi Gras--it's appalling."
