Local Blogger Hijacks McCaskill's Healthcare Forum Appears on Fox News to Talk About It

Dana Loesch, a local blogger (Mamalouges), conservative talk show host and right-wing Tea Party organizer, marshaled a group of Teabaggers recently to turn a public forum on health care reform organized by Senator Claire McCaskill's office into a protest against it. I think the forum was actually organized on behalf of the conservative group, after their protest prompted McCaskill's staff into calling the cops a couple of weeks ago.

I can't really comment or report on the forum and what transpired there since I wasn't there and to be honest politics aren't really my beat on this blog. However, KSDK posted a report of the event on its site.

Browsing my Twitter stream Tuesday night I saw several references to Ms. Loesch appearing on Greta Van Susterene's show on Fox News. And lo and behold, I found this video of Loesch's appearance on YouTube.

Yesterday the popular left-leaning blog Crooks and Liars posted its critique of the event and Loesch's appearance on Susterene.

Are we seeing a local blogger transforming into a right-wing TV pundit? I guess it wouldn't be the first time the region produced one of those. After all, St. Louis is home to anti-womens' rights activist and conservative author and pundit Phyllis Sclafly -- and rumor has it that Rush Limbaugh was raised by a pack of wild Republican lawyers just down the river in Cape Girardeau.

Oh and in the interest of full disclosure; I consider Dana a friend though if you follow both of us on twitter (@billstreeter, @dloesch) you'll know that we certainly do not see eye to eye on most political issues.
