On the sidelines: Freeman Bosley Jr.
Trupiano called Daily RFT in response to our story this morning in which we interviewed him about complaints the city and neighbors have with his business.
"I don't like being in the spotlight, but I appreciate you hearing me out," says Trupiano, 29, who's still awaiting an official letter from the city to set up a public hearing to review Lure's liquor license.
In the meantime, the nightclub owner confirms an item in Jerry Berger's column that he has asked former St. Louis mayor Freeman Bosley Jr. (now an attorney in private practice) to assist him during the upcoming process.
Bosley Jr., says Trupiano, is an old family friend who's done work for him before.
"Right now, he's just going to take a look at the summons and more or less serve as a security blanket in case something drastic happens -- like if our liquor license gets pulled," says Trupiano. "He's a man who fights for what is right."
Bosley Jr. last made mention in Daily RFT back in April when he filed suit against Metro on claims the company did not meet its minority participation quota during the building of MetroLink's Shrewsbury extension.
