Police are searching for a man who they say robbed the Walgreens at Hampton and Chippewa at gunpoint.

The man was allegedly checking out around 11:29 p.m. when he pulled a gun from his waistband and demanded the clerk open the cash register. When she did, he reached over and grabbed its contents.

The man is described as a black male, 48 to 52 years of age, 5’10” to 6’0” and medium build, with a salt & pepper beard and black frame prescription glasses. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

The man fled on foot.

Those with information about the case are encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).

Editor's note: The original version of this post located the Walgreens at Hampton and Fyler; it's actually at Hampton and Chippewa. We regret the error.
