McCaskill's '04 Campaign Ad Criticized Opponent for Use of Private Plane

Poor Claire McCaskill. The fiasco over her private airplane just won't go away.

Last week, the news was that Missouri's Democratic senator had failed to pay personal property taxes on her $2 million dollar, private aircraft. Then came news that the $280,000 check she cut to St. Louis County wasn't enough. She actually owed more -- around $320,000. Someone even made a fake Craigslist ad after McCaskill vowed that she'd "sell the damn the plane." Oh the embarrassment!

Now it gets worse. Yesterday, Politico.com, which first broke the story about McCaskill billing the U.S. Treasury for use of the plane, uncovered some 2004 campaign ads when McCaskill was running for governor in Missouri.

Guess what the ads say? They attack her primary opponent -- then-Governor Bob Holden -- for billing taxpayers for use of a private plane! Here's the pick of the bunch...
