More Living Proof That Nothing Lasts

Speaking of Jay Farrar, recent visitors to the Son Volt frontman's Web site may be surprised to see it hawking muscle relaxants and diet pills. We always assumed our local demigod was a Stag and David Nicholson 1843 man.

Turns out the site was hacked. "Register.com is not being really clear with me about why they didn't have to answer a security question" to take control of the site, says Farrar's manager, Sharon Agnello. "There's supposed to be security!"

For now, the genuine site has been migrated to www.jayfarrar.com. Agnello would prefer to get the .net domain back as soon as possible, because it's listed on Farrar's CDs.

"I don't know why they changed it," she says. "It's not like Jay is Norah Jones or somebody that's going to get millions of hits per day. It's really weird. More of a pain in the butt than anything."
