Nicholas Haegele, 19, and Bryan Boide, 23, have been arrested in connection with a series of shed- and barn-burnings on the East Side. The pair, described by police as "without a doubt a Beavis and Butt-head duo" allegedly set fire to six structures in Freeburg, Illinois, between April 23 and May 9. During that spree, three fires were set on Monday, May, 7, one of which was to the Freeburg Township Building.

Haegele and Boid were caught after midnight on Wednesday, May 16, by a property owner who spotted them prowling around his property. That man went out to meet them, shotgun in hand, and then marched them to a neighboring house where police were called.

Both men have been charged with six counts of arson. Police say that as far as they can determine, the pair set the fires for no apparent reason other than "to stir up stuff."
