Ladd: That's not a wink.
A month ago Earl Ladd generated an outpouring of sympathy when the teenager was shot in the eye on the last day of school in East St. Louis. But as it turns out, the victim isn't such a good boy, himself.

Yesterday the 19-year-old Ladd was charged with with armed robbery, home invasion, aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a firearm following a botched burglary Tuesday in Belleville.

In related news, the suspect wanted for shooting Ladd was also arrested yesterday.

Police have charged Trenton Jefferson, better known by his street name "Pooh Man" (I did not make that up!) with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm in the May 21 shooting of Ladd.

Ironically, both Jefferson, 20, and Ladd will likely both be housed in the St. Clair County Jail should they not be able to post bail -- which seems likely given the price of the bond.

Ladd and two accomplices -- Kirk A. Foster, 18, and Darnell C. Carraway, 17 -- in the home invasion are each being held on a $500,000 bond. Jefferson is being held on a $300,000 bond.

Who knows? Perhaps they'll even share a cell and become each other's pooh, I mean boo.
