Officer Matt Mitchell: Says He Used "Reasonable Care" While Going 126 m.p.h.

The Illinois State Trooper who was sentenced to probation last week for a high-speed crash that killed two teenage girls, said today that he pleaded guilty to reckless homicide because he couldn't get a fair trial.

Speaking at a hearing for a civil suit filed against him, Matt Mitchell also stated he was using "reasonable care" back in 2007 when he reached speeds of 126 m.p.h. while responding to a traffic accident he never made. Instead, Mitchell lost control of his car killing sisters Jessica and Kelli Uhl, 18 and 13.

He also says he ended his cell phone call (about his daughter's tricycle) prior to the chase.
