Report: Cardinals Returning to KMOX

Update: Cardinals are moving back to KMOX beginning with spring training games next year. The Cardinals -- for now -- remain 50 percent owners of KTRS, thought Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III says that they'd entertain offers for a buyout.

The Post-Dispatch is reporting that the Cardinals are heading back to KMOX 1120 AM next season after a four-year run on KTRS 550 AM.

The daily reports that the team will make an announcement later today. KMOX has a statement on its website saying that it will make a major announcement regarding the Cardinals on the air at 5 p.m. Daily RFT has calls out to the baseball team and KMOX for more information.

In 2005 the Cardinals purchased a 50 percent stake in KTRS and moved its broadcasts to the station in 2006. Not sure what becomes of that ownership stake if the team moves its broadcasts.
