Shanl Toney, 29, died sometime in the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Monday morning, according to police. Toney suffered a puncture wound to the back -- quite possibly the result of a bullet. A medical examination is pending.
Court records show Toney was arrested multiple times in recent years for driving with a revoked license. Last year he also pleaded guilty to charges of drug possession, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.
