Police are investigating a shooting that injured three young men and killed two women in the Gravois Park neighborhood last night. Police say a single officer on patrol spotted a large group of teens yelling near the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and Miami Street  (near the entrance to Gravois Park, above) at 9:15 p.m., apparently after someone had fired into the crowd.

He found five people lying on the ground with gunshot wounds of various severity. Two females, ages 16 and 20, were completely unresponsive; they were transported to the hospital where they were later pronounced dead. Three males, reportedly all younger than 20, were taken to hospitals with less serious injuries; their current conditions are not known.

None of the victims have been identified yet. The officer did not hear the shots fired, and no information about the suspect or suspects has been released at this time.
