Six 'Persons of Interest' Sought by Cops in Busch Stadium MetroLink Killing (Photos)

Update 5:45 p.m. — St. Louis police say all of the people in the photos have now been identified and the investigation is ongoing. No other details were released.

St. Louis police have released surveillance photos of six people as the investigation into a shocking killing at a MetroLink station near Busch Stadium continues.

Police described the six — four males, two females — as "persons of interest" in the case.

Mac Payne, 57, was shot in the head shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday after exiting the MetroLink at the South Eighth Street stop downtown. Police say a group of six people were robbing a 51-year-old father and his 29-year-old son inside the train when one of the six pulled a gun.

During a struggle, the gun fired a bullet through the train's window, striking Payne, police say. Payne died Tuesday in the hospital.

Police released a photo of another rider on Monday. They now say he's been identified and is no longer considered a person of interest in the case.

Police have not said whether they think the six people in the photos released today were the attackers. (See additional photos below.)

Police distributed the following description of the persons of interest:

Subject #1- Black male wearing a dark grey hooded jacket with a black skull cap underneath with white lettering and dark jeans Subject #2- Black male wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and light sweat pants
Subject #3- Black male wearing a black or navy Polo hooded jacket, with a black skull cap underneath and light sweat pants Subject #4- Black male with a heavy build, wearing an army green puffy coat with a hood and medium dreadlocks
Subject #5- Black female wearing a white vest with a dark shirt underneath and bright blue pants
Subject #6- Black female wearing a black jacket with pink on the sleeves and black pants, with long braids.
