In the early morning hours of July 30, a woman's screams brought St. Louis County police to a west-county street. By that night, police had arrested the man she says broke in and sodomized her in her apartment.
Alaaden Abbas, 51, of the 4500 block of Varrelmann Avenue in the Bevo Mill neighborhood, was charged with first-degree sodomy, first-degree burglary and armed criminal action on July 31. He is held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.
The victim tells police she was at home in the 700 block of Overlook Circle, near Dougherty Ferry and Big Bend roads, when Abbas forced his way into her apartment. Armed with a knife, he told her he would kill her if she screamed.
Abbas then sodomized the victim, according to police.

On Thursday, July 31, 2014, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges on Alaaden Abbas, 51 years of age, of the 4500 block of Varrelmann, St. Louis, Missouri, 63116, for one count of Burglary in the First Degree, one count of Sodomy in the first degree, and one count of Armed Criminal Action. Abbas is currently being held on a $250,000 cash only bond. During the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 30, 2014, officers from the St. Louis County Police Department West County Precinct - Valley Park Detail, responded to the 700 block of Overlook Circle for a female screaming for the police. The facts supporting this case state that Abbas entered the victim's apartment without her consent. Abbas was armed with a knife and told the victim not to scream or he would kill her. Abbas then forcibly sodomized the victim. An investigation by detectives from the St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons led to Abbas' arrest on the evening of July 30, 2014.
