St. Louis Paralympian Kerri Morgan today took fifth-place in the women’s 100-meter wheelchair track race at the Beijing Paralympic Games. Canadian Michelle Stilwell earned the gold medal with a time of 19.97 seconds, setting a new world record.
Although Morgan missed the medals podium, she logged a season-best and placed first among the U.S. competitors in the race, posting a time of 21.56 seconds.
Last week, Morgan also took fifth in the 200-meter event. Check her out in this photo (she’s in the middle of the pack, wearing the navy bandanna) or in this highlights video (skip ahead to the 32-minute mark for Morgan’s race).
The STLOG has been chronicling Morgan’s experiences in Beijing (1, 2, 3, 4, 5.)
Morgan is also a quad rugby player (featured in this January, 2007, RFT feature story, "Ready to Rumble.")
