According to St. Louis city police, a horrifying piece of gossip has turned into a full-blown criminal investigation on the Saint Louis University campus.

Late last week, an 18-year-old female student reported to university officers that she heard secondhand about a 21-year-old male bragging that he had sex with her at a party. She told police that she was drunk and has no memory of this.

That, class, is called nonconsensual sex. University Public Safety called metro police.

The party took place on Saturday, July 13, in a dorm room on the 300 block of South Grand. KMOV (Channel 4) identified the building as Reinert Hall, a high-rise that houses more than 500 freshmen and sophomore students in triple- and quad-room style dormitories.

The victim told SLU public safety the assault must have taken place sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. the next morning.

Here's the full statement released by SLMPD:

The incident occurred July 13th, 2013, at an apartment in the 300 block of S. Grand. The victim is an 18- year old, white female. The suspect is a 21-year old white male. The victim was told by a third party that the suspect was boasting about having sexual contact with her during a party. The victim, who was intoxicated at the party, had no recollection of said contact. The investigation is ongoing.

Back in 2010, four Billiken basketball players were accused of "pulling train" on a twenty-year-old victim, but were ultimately not prosecuted. Read all about that here.
