St. Louis Post-Dispatch Asks Fleshlight for Photo Credit after 9/11 Tweet

After noticing that Fleshlight, the company that sells handheld vaginas and assholes for your masterbational pleasure, tweeted a St. Louis Post-Dispatch picture in a September 11 tribute, the newspaper asked the company for a photo credit.

J.B. Forbes took the haunting photo of three thousand American flags on Art Hill at Forest Park at dawn on the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Two years later, it turned up on the interwebz when the official Fleshlight twitter account posted it with the message:

"Today is the 13th anniversary of 9/11. We remember those lost, & honor those still fighting for freedom. #911NeverForget"

Amazingly, the Post-Dispatch called them out: "Um... surprised to see our photo here. It's a great pic from @stltoday, please give credit."

The P-D wouldn't tell Daily RFT which staffer crafted that perfectly snarky reply, but online content coordinator Beth O'Malley tells journalism blogger Jim Romenesko that the company hasn't responded to the newspaper's tweeted request.

Fleshlight deleted the tweet over the weekend. The company did not immediately respond to Daily RFT's queries, including why on earth the professional sex hole-makers thought they needed to have a say in a great American tragedy.

Fleshlight's tweet was highlighted in a Huffington Post round-up of cringe-worthy September 11 tributes that made the rounds last week, and while we're betting that's how the P-D noticed it, we still like to think someone over there is closely monitoring Fleshlight's social media presence. You never know when news will break, after all.
