Stolen Car Crashes Into Hooters and No One Injured (Insert Air Bags Joke Here)

Two teenagers are in custody this morning after crashing a stolen car into a Hooters in downtown St. Louis.

According to police, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Thursday when a stolen vehicle sped away from police. The car later crashed into parked cars and plowed into the Hooters at 7th and Chestnut. The car caught on fire with the young men inside the vehicle fleeing on foot. The suspects, ages 17 and 18, were arrested after a brief foot chase.

As the Post-Dispatch reports this morning, about 40 people were inside the Hooter's when the car came crashing to a halt, leaving the restaurant's orange awnings burned and part of the building destroyed.

Neither police nor the daily ventured to explain how it was that no one was injured in the incident.
