St. Louis Cardinals team president
Bill DeWitt III tells
St. Louis Public Radio this week that the team is in negotiations with a "major tenant" for the much delayed Ballpark Village.
DeWitt declined to provide the name of that possible tenant, but says other people are also interested in the project -- which is now more than four years behind schedule.
"You know there's been some good
development news downtown, in particular with the Kiel Opera House deal
closing, and we think it may be time again," DeWitt tells KWMU. "So we've
initiated a bunch of meets and dialogue with the principals, with our
development partner the Cordish Company, and started talking to the city
again and our key tenants as well."
