So, it now comes out that Travis Parker, the 20-year-old man gunned down on Washington Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Monday, had just left Sugar Lounge after he had reportedly gotten into an argument with the gunman over a woman -- the dispute allegedly occurring inside the bar or near it.

Sugar Lounge, as you'll recall, was one of three downtown nightclubs that came under fire this summer from the mayor's office following calls to the police over violence and disruptive behavior. Sugar Lounge and F15teen got off the hook after they supposedly agreed to step-up their security. Lure Nightclub wasn't so lucky. Earlier this month, the city suspended its liquor license.

So, what was a 20-year-old kid doing at Sugar Lounge at 2 a.m.? Apparently, the Halloween night party was part of Sugar's "Erotic Energy Sundays" an event billed as 18-and-over.

Still, one wonders: Don't most nightclubs kick the minors out after a certain time -- usually 12 a.m.?

Update 11:40 a.m.

According to the city's Excise Division, minors don't have to leave early. They're free -- in the words of Lionel Richie -- to stay All Night Long.
