Police say that Shonta Roper shot her boyfriend, Terrell Hadley, in the eye after an argument at his home Friday night in the 5500 block of Ashland (near Belt Avenue) in north St. Louis.

According to reports, Roper, 25, grabbed a handgun off the table and shot Hadley, 29, around 10:30 p.m. Friday.
Police discovered him dead on the floor of his residence. Roper was arrested a short time after the shooting. Then, around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Roper wiggled out of her hand-cuffs and escaped police custody.
She turned herself in later that morning and is being held without bail on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
