Thank Plager! Blues Goalie Brian Elliot Declared Healthy, Jake Allen Heads Back to Peoria

The St. Louis Blues have returned goalie Jake Allen to the Peoria Rivermen mere hours before the puck drops in tonight's round one playoff game against the detestable San Jose Sharks, announcing that Brian Elliot is 100 percent healthy and ready to play.

It's time to dial down the panic and dial up the enthusiasm. Jaroslav Halak had already been declared the starting goalie for tonight, which makes sense. In his two games against the Sharks this season, Halak has a .977 save percentage and 0.5 goals against average. That's pretty solid.

Elliot also has a two-game sample vs. the Sharks this year, and he racked up a .967 save average and 1.0 goals allowed. Again, solid. It's reassuring to have a goalie of Elliot's caliber cleared for the playoffs if we need him. But don't worry -- Elliot has a project to keep him busy in the meantime.
