The Big Bloody: Another St. Louis Teen Shot and Killed in Drive-By

Gunmen killed 18-year-old Denell Antonio Anderson in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in north St. Louis.

Anderson was on a front porch in the 3800 of Kennerly Avenue around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday when a late-model Chrysler 300 pulled in front of the home and an occupant inside the vehicle fired several shots toward the property.

Kennerly, of the nearby block of 4100 West Carter Avenue, collapsed on the porch and died at an area hospital. No arrests have been made.

Anderson's death brings the number of metro St. Louis area teens (under the age of 20) murdered this year to at least 13. (Earlier this month the total number of homicides committed within St. Louis City limits in 2009 eclipsed the 50 plateau.)

As always, police encourage anyone with information regarding this death to contact Crimestoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
