Earlier this week we told you about the three people found dead in their north city residences this past Sunday night.
Yesterday St. Louis police announced the arrest of a suspect regarding two of the murders that occurred inside a home in the 800 block of Wall Street.
Police have charged 47-year-old Reginald Frazier, of the 3700 block of Cleveland, on two counts each of first-degree homicide and armed criminal action for killing his cousin and her boyfriend.
Following is the police department's account of the crime. (Warning: It's not for the queasy.)
Police say Frazier was at the home of his cousin, Michelle Renee Gowder, and her boyfriend, Willie Murphy Ward, last Friday. When the couple went to bed, Frazier allegedly took Ward's car and went to buy drugs.
Gowder later woke up and told Frazier she planned to tell her boyfriend what Frazier had done. Police believe that Frazier then hit Gowder several times in the head with a crowbar and then went the bedroom where Ward was still in bed. Frazier then began beating Ward with the crowbar. He then dragged his cousin into the bedroom and continued bludgeoning both victims until they died.
Police discovered their bodies several days later when a relative called to request that the police check on their well-being.
Frazier is in custody and is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond.
