The Big Bloody: Three Sunday Shootings Leave One Dead, Two Injured

'Twas another bloody Sunday in St. Louis yesterday with police responding to three separate shootings.

The first occurred around 10 a.m. yesterday morning in the 6200 block of Emma in north St. Louis, near the intersection with Goodfellow Boulevard.

That's where police arrived to find 18-year-old Kenyetta Brown shot in the torso and head. She was declared dead on the scene. Police later arrested Brown's boyfriend -- who's yet to be identified.

The day's second shooting occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the 5900 block of Lucille near Riverview Boulevard.

St. Louis police report that a 14-year-old boy was shot in his home when two men forced their way into the residence and demanded everyone inside to lay on the ground. The 14-year-old tried to run from the men and was shot once in the arm.

The suspects then fled from the home. The boy is listed in stable condition at a hospital. The gunmen are described as two black men between the ages of 20 and 25, standing about 5'10" and weighing around 200 pounds.

The third shooting of the day technically occurred this morning -- around 1:35 a.m. -- in downtown St. Louis. Police say a gunman in a white Pontiac Grand Prix with temporary license plates shot a 20-year-old man in the head as he went to his car in the 1800 block of Olive.

The victim is listed in critical condition. Police say he and the men in the Grand Prix got into a fight earlier that evening in a nightclub. The suspects were described only as four black males.
