Good night, sleep tight, don't let the...
Oh, shudder! Over the weekend, a student at the
University of Illinois in Urbana reported
bed bugs in her dorm room at Evans Hall.
School officials
told the News-Gazette that the problem was quickly contained, and didn't spread past the single dorm room. Within an hour of the student's report, the room was closed off and fumigated -- and kids on the floors above and below were moved out.
Bedbugs, which have been
scaring people away from hotels in New York City for some time now, can't kill you. They just suck your blood in the night and make you itchy and undesirable. They are also really hard to get rid of.
Apparently, the bitey little bastards in the dorm didn't spread. Except they did, virtually! We first saw the story in the
Post-Dispatch, and it appeared in plenty of other newspapers. And now, it's chomping you, dear reader.
Feelin' a little itchy?
