Police were called out to deal with two shootings last night, although in the first instance the victim wanted nothing to do with the police. The uncooperative victim is an 18-year-old black man, who would not tell police how he was injured nor would he tell them where he was when he was shot.
Witnesses in the 4600 block of South Compton Avenue in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood saw the man after the shooting and called police, but that's all they have to work with right now. They continue to investigate.
In the second incident, a 21-year-old black man was shot multiple times while in a northbound car that was stopped at the intersection of Potomac Street and Louisiana Avenue in the Gravois Park neighborhood. He told police the suspect was a black man, age 18-to-25, who was standing on the sidewalk when he opened fire. The suspect was 5'8'' or 5'9" with a medium complexion, and he was wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and a light blue baseball cap. The victim is in serious condition at an area hospital.
