Two Teens Shot After Gunman Targets Group of Boys

St. Louis Metropolitan police are searching for the gunman who targeted a group of teenage boys Saturday evening, shooting a thirteen-year-old and a fourteen-year-old.

The six boys -- all between the ages of thirteen and sixteen -- were walking in the 2600 block of Iowa Avenue, in the Fox Park neighborhood, around 5:45 p.m. Saturday when the suspect pulled up in a black 2000s Honda four-door sedan and asked them a question, police said.

Then the suspect pulled out a gun and shot at the boys from the car, grazing a thirteen-year-old in the arm and striking a fourteen-year-old in the back.

The boys escaped by running south to the 2800 block of Iowa Avenue while the suspect drove north.

None of the other four boys was wounded, police said. The two injured teens were taken to an ambulance and listed in stable condition at the hospital.

Police recovered shell casings at the intersection of Iowa Avenue and Lynch Street. Cops describe the suspect as a man between 20 and 25 years old with slight facial hair and wearing a black stocking hat.

Suspect: Unknown black male, 20-25 years old, slight facial hair wearing black stocking hat occupying a black 2000's Honda 4 door sedan (no further)

The six juvenile victims stated they were walking south on Iowa from Lynch when the suspect pulled up in a vehicle and asked the juveniles a question. The suspect then produced a gun and started shooting at the victims from the vehicle. The victims ran south on Iowa until they reached 2800 block of Iowa. The suspect vehicle was last seen northbound on Iowa. Victim #1 suffered a graze wound to his arm. Victim #2 suffered a gunshot wound to his back. A scene was located in the street at the intersection of Lynch were shell casings were recovered. Both victims were transported to the hospital by EMS and were listed as stable. There were no other injuries reported. The investigation is ongoing.
