The teenager shot Monday night after leaving a basketball game at a charter school in north St. Louis died this morning.
Police say the victim, 19-year-old Tyrice Spencer Jr. of the 400 block of Kirkwall Drive in Glasgow Village, was involved in a verbal altercation shortly before the shooting while attending a basketball game at Clyde C. Miller Academy (above) at North Grand and Bell in Grand Center.
Following that incident, St. Louis Public School security officers escorted a number of people out of the school. Witnesses reported hearing shots fired a few minutes later and saw a white vehicle with tinted windows, possibly a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, flee the scene. Police discovered Spencer shot in the head in a car in the nearby block of 3500 Franklin. An investigation is ongoing.
