More details are emerging about the
break in this morning at rapper Nelly's estate in the western suburb of Wildwood.
The
Post-Dispatch reports that the hip-hop star was out of town this morning when a thief broke in the sprawling mansion around 7 a.m.
People staying in the home heard a commotion and witnessed the burglar exit through a window with a duffel bag. Missing from the home are a video game console and a few electronics.
In response to a 911 call, the St. Louis County police arrived at the rapper's home with a dozen officers, a K9 unit and a police helicopter.
Let's repeat that: A dozen officers, a K9 unit and a police helicopter.
Must've been a hell of game console. And to think: If Nelly wasn't a has-been, the police probably would have responded with even greater force. We're thinking a tank, a satellite-mounted laser and the guy who plays "The Mentalist".
The burglar, btw, is described as a black man in his 20s or 30s with glasses and a mustache. You know, someone who looks kind of like, oh, we don't know.
