Woman shot and robbed in near Cardinal Glennon

Update: Police say a 27-year-old white female was shot in the face this morning just southwest of Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.

It happened around 6 a.m., as the woman was walking out to her vehicle on the ~~1900~~ 1600 block of South Spring Street.

The suspect -- described as a black male in his mid-twenties, about six feet tall with dreadlocks -- walked up to her.

He grabbed her purse, shot her in the face, then took off running.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in "critical/stable" condition.

Investigation, as always, is ongoing.
