Eager to continue cranking out those Best of St. Louis items for your reading pleasure, Unreal was tooling officeward this a.m. enjoying our morning Bob Schneider when we encountered a bit of a tie-up at the well-traveled intersection of Brentwood Boulevard and Manchester Road.
Dandy, right?
To Unreal's way of thinking, not so much. Anyone who has crossed this particular intersection with any regularity will probably nod in agreement when we mention the frequency with which the City of Brentwood's finest ply this stretch of Brentwood Boulevard, their radar guns trained on the passing automotive pageant. And yes, in the interest of full disclosure Unreal will freely admit that Officer Friendly's velocity-gauging apparatus has been aimed in our direction at a time during which we were exceeding the posted speed limit of 30 mph. The traffic citation that resulted we duly handed over to our neighbor, an attorney who for purposes of this post we'll call "Jim." (His given name being Jim, this is not much of a stretch.) "Jim" made the ticket go away for $100. We're told it was pleaded down to a lesser infraction on the order of littering.
Anyhoo.
As we crawled our way toward the intersection this morning, we looked around for Brentwood police cars. Didn't see any. No Brentwood cop keeping the traffic moving, either. And now, back to the Best of St. Louis. Pick up yours next Thursday.
Oh yeah: Bob's announced a December 6 show at Blueberry Hill's Duck Room. Rock on.
