A woman told police she was driving through Clayton at 8 a.m. this morning when what she thought was a police car
pulled her over near the intersection of Hanley Road and Polo Drive. The car had flashing lights and a spotlight, and the man who got out was wearing a gray shirt with an oval badge and dark pants; he appeared to have a holster on his left hip.
That's all she noticed before she says the man yanked her out of her car, slugged her in the face and threw her in the grass on the side of the road.
The woman then snapped her head back quickly, headbutting the man in the
groin. That maneuver bought her enough time to escape and call for
She described her assailant as a white man in his mid 30s, about 6' and 190 lbs, with short brown hair and a goatee. Authorities are uncertain at this time if the man was trying to impersonate a police officer, actually is a police officer or security guard, or something else entirely.
