Guess what? There are Cubs fans in St. Louis. They even live in harmony with their Cardinals fan neighbors. But now the DIY Network is storming into town to stir up trouble. In a special episode of the show Turf Wars, the new byproduct from the folks who brought you HGTV and the Food Network is flying a team of landscape architects into St. Louis -- plus former Cubs pitchers Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams and Dan Plesac (though, yes, it's true, Plesac's best years were with the Brewers) -- to help two local families design the best Cubs and Cards-themed yards.

Yep. Yards. The winning family gets to be "groundskeeper for a day." Well, and they get $10,000 and a bunch of other prizes.

You can watch the whole thing on DIY tomorrow night at 7 p.m. It'll be just the thing to get you primed for the World Series.

Full press release after the jump.

DIY NETWORK AND MLB NETWORK TEAM UP FOR ONE-HOUR SPECIAL "YARD WAR: BASEBALL" Former MLB Players & MLB Network Analysts Mitch Williams and Dan Plesac, Along with Landscaping Expert/Host, Ahmed Hassan, Pit Neighbors Against Each Other to Create Ballpark-Inspired Yards For Avid St. Louis Cardinals Fans AND Die-Hard Chicago Cubs Fans

Special Premieres October 26 at 8 p.m. ET on DIY Network Encores November 9 at 10 p.m. ET on MLB Network

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - In the one-hour special Yard War: Baseball, DIY Network and MLB Network team up to make the best ballpark-inspired yard on the block. Led by DIY Network host and licensed landscape contractor Ahmed Hassan, each team of St. Louis-based neighbors is matched up with MLB Network studio analysts and former Major League Baseball players, Mitch Williams and Dan Plesac, to help turn their yard into an eye-popping baseball-themed showplace. Based on the storied rivalry between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs, a team of judges picks the winning yard, awarding $10,000 cash and an MLB prize package, including a "groundskeeper for a day" experience and year's worth of product from Scotts, a Dell laptop computer, one-year satellite TV service from DirecTV and gear from MLB Authentic Collection. The special premieres on DIY Network on Tuesday, Oct. 26 - the day before Game One of the 2010 World Series - at 8 p.m. ET and encores on MLB Network on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 10 p.m. ET.

In Yard War: Baseball, Williams joins the Blaha family along with contractor Tom Schrieber and ASLA designer Mary Deweese to create an outfield fit for the ultimate Cubs fan: An outdoor living room with a gazebo and a custom Chicago-style stone pizza oven. Next door, Plesac works with general contractor Mike Basile and designer Jerry Pence to give the Weiss family, avid Cardinals fans, a ballpark-themed space that includes: a baseball-themed pond-less water feature and an outdoor luxury suite with a kitchen and fireplace. Also part of the one-hour special, Hassan is the guest of honor at Busch Stadium as he throws out the first pitch at a Cubs vs. Cardinals game.

This is the second time DIY Network is teaming up with MLB Network. In 2009, they created the ultimate Windy City baseball lounge for an avid Chicago White Sox fan for a special episode of the popular series Man Caves.
