Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending December 16, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books and Subterranean Books.

Do you want to know what your fellow St. Louisans got for Christmas this year? Take a good look at this week's local bestseller list. Tony La Russa! The Busch clan! Gone Girl! A Founding Fathers/Sun Tsu mashup! (Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power.) Heaven forbid anybody incorporates any lessons from these books into their list of New Years resolutions. (Although it would make your life a lot more interesting.) Except for Tony La Russa's: hard work, persistence, belief in oneself and one's abilities, rally squirrel, etc. And, over on the kids' list, Princess in Training. There is no reason why your four-year-old shouldn't be a princess, too.
