Your Weekly St. Louis Bestseller List

Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending June 12, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books, Subterranean Books and Sue's News.

This week picture books invaded the adult bestseller list. Go the Fuck to Sleep by Adam Mansbach and Ricardo Cortés and Pat the Zombie: A Cruel (Adult) Spoof by Aaron Ximm and Kaveh Soofi came in at six and nine respectively. Of course, you can listen to Samuel L. Jackson's sublimely irritable reading of Go the Fuck to Sleep on YouTube, but then you would miss out on the pleasure of gazing mindlessly at Cortés's illustrations from the depths of your sleep-deprived haze.

Meanwhile, over on the kids' list, the first two books in Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games trilogy, a very, very serious exploration of totalitarianism and violence captured the first two spots. Make of this what you will.
