Bonner's Bucks

Posted By on Wed, Oct 18, 2006 at 11:15 AM

Yesterday's Post-Dispatch story about Anthony Bonner succeeding exiled Vashon basketball coach Floyd Irons pegged the newcomer's salary at $125,000, with P-D reporter Stephen Giegerich attributing the figure to St. Louis Public Schools board president Veronica O'Brien.

That's a few dollars more than the "about $70,000" figure Kristen Hinman cited Monday in her blog post about Bonner's hire.

Good thing O'Brien doesn't sign the checks.

Today SLPS spokesman Tony Sanders tells Hinman that Bonner will earn $72,000 a year, plus a $4,000 stipend for coaching. -Tom Finkel
