Monday, March 9; Morning's Newz

Posted By on Mon, Mar 9, 2009 at 8:28 AM

The Post-Dispatch reports that the gunman who killed the Rev. Fred Winters during a church service yesterday in Maryville suffers from a mental illness brought on by Lyme disease. The suspect, Terry Joe Sedlacek, was the subject of an August 2008 article in the Post-Dispatch that documented how a tick bite led to his unstable mental condition.

Folks near Alton are recovering after tornadoes ripped through Illinois during yesterday's storm. The Cardinals didn't have wind gusts to blame yesterday, still the team managed to compile a whopping six errors in its 8-9 loss to the Marlins in an exhibition game in Jupiter, Florida.

Finally, today -- Monday, March 9 -- is Tibet Lobby Day in Washington D.C. and Ukranian Literature Day in Canada. So, if you happen to see the Dalai Lama or a mustachioed Eastern European reading poetry today, be sure to wish them well.
